What are face oils, and why should I use one? Face oils are nourishing treatments that help lock in moisture, strengthen the skin barrier and deliver a concentrated dose of nutrients. They're excellent for sealing in hydration and supporting overall skincare health - especially in colder months or dry environments.
When should I use a face oil in my routine? After serum and before (or instead of) moisturiser - they can also be mixed into your night cream for an added boost. Contrary to popular belief, they are also great for the daytime - just opt for lighter oils that absorb quickly. They can even provide a natural glow under makeup, but don't forget SPF if wearing during the day - and bear in mind that oils and run-of-the-mill moisturisers are not exactly interchangeable: oils lock in hydration, but they don't typically add water, so for best results, layer over a hydrating serum or cream.
