The Hermès cologne collection epitomises the house's approach to the art of living. And this particular fragrance is no exception. A generous sensory expression, it highlights the vivid freshness of neroli with notes of rare saffron.

When designing this scent – the fifth in the house's cologne family – Jean-Claude Ellena elected to place neroli front and centre. While the ingredient is conventionally used only sparingly in fragrances, Ellena broke with convention by being generous in his application. Motivated by both love for its aroma and a desire to offer something a little different, he infused the cologne with its encompassing richness. The addition of saffron subsequently lent extra depth, bringing out hitherto overlooked aspects and facets.

When faced with the question of what to name his new scent, Ellena chose to pay homage to Princess Nerola, famous for perfuming her gloves with neroli. As refined and finely-tuned as this blend is, however, a single spritz instantly transports the wearer's senses to a bracingly fresh walk across Mediterranean clifftops.
