This 125-year old company came into existence after 28-year old Sebastian Kneipp became determined to find a cure to his tuberculosis and began looking to various methods. And finally he managed to heal his illness and that's when his spirit for research began.

Sebastion Kneipp's holistic philosophy stems from embracing plants and nature to stay in good health. It is this passion for holistic concepts that are in accordance with the companies principle, developing effective formulas at their Hohestadt site and always on the basis of natural ingredients and scientifically founded teachings.

Starting with the foundation laid in 1891 by Sebastian Kneipp and Leonhard Oberhäußer, maintaining health has been the focus at Kneipp. The findings from their research are the foundation for all the bath, body and skin care products sold today, especially the best selling herbal oils. However, animal testing has always been rejected for body care products. Instead, the efficacy and tolerance of body care products are tested exclusively on volunteer test subjects.
