The 2023 Wedding Hair and Makeup Styles We’re Obsessed With

Things are finally getting back on track after all of the postponed pandemic weddings. So we thought it’d be a good idea to round up all our fave wedding hair and makeup styles so you can get inspired for the big day - whether it's your own wedding or one you're attending. Just remember to try these out ahead of time and wear them around to make sure you're absolutely in love!
So without further ado, here are our favourite 2023 wedding looks, plus the tools and products you’ll need to get them.
2023 Wedding Hair Trend 1: Half Up Half Down
Technically this isn't a 2022 trend as it's a timeless one in the wedding hair scene, but you can’t start a wedding look book and not include a gorgeous half up half down hairstyle like this one. You can easily achieve these soft waves at home with a curling wand and a few pins. Think effortless, boho wedding vibes. It's also a great opportunity to incorporate a delicate clasp or clip for the 'half up' portion of this do.

2023 Wedding Hair Trend 2: Low Chignon
This soft and romantic style takes the previous option up a notch on the elegance scale. For the sophisticated bride-to-be, this look relies on lots of pins and hairspray to ensure it holds all day and night, even under the weight of a veil and tiara and hours on the dance floor.
And if you want to make this look more sleek, just reduce the amount of texture and face-framing waves.

2023 Wedding Hair Trend 3: Natural Hair
Another wedding hairstyle we're seeing in 2023 is not one singular style, but rather brides choosing to embrace their natural texture - whether that's tight curls or pin-straight tresses or anything in between. Hairstylists recommend this option for indoor weddings so you can be sure any humidity or rain won't mess with your un-styled locks.
Just because you've opted for natural doesn't mean you can't primp your hair a little though. Nourishing oils and styling creams that enhance your natural texture and give you lustrous wedding hair are your best friends on the big day.

2023 Wedding Hair Trend 4: Bohemian Bridal Hair
Whether you've got naturally thick and wavy hair or need to load up on the texturising spray and mermaid wavers, this style is perfect for expressing your carefree spirit. You can wear this wildchild style completely loose, in a thick plait or half-up, half-down - and at least a few flowers (real, metal or silk) are definitely in order.

2023 Wedding Makeup Trend 1: Natural Wedding Makeup
Natural and minimalist makeup is a great option for the effortless bride, especially if you’re not confident with bold pigments and shades. It's also super on-trend this year, with so many people embracing their natural beauty. Stick to a flush of blush on the cheeks, a glossy lip and, for a radiant glow that's your skin-but-better, try a lightweight or serum foundation.

2023 Wedding Makeup Trend 2: Glam Wedding Makeup
On the other hand, if you can’t go full glam on your wedding day, then when can you? While natural makeup is in, this is no ordinary day. If you're not used to super bold looks but want to stand out on this special day, we recommend going glam on just your eyes - with big brows and false eyelashes - or on your lip with a bright red or vampy lip. A red lip with soft waves also makes for a gorgeous, old Hollywood vibe that we just adore.

2023 Wedding Makeup Trend 3: Playful Eye Looks
Something blue? Something new? These bold and bright makeup looks are a great way to incorporate the recent obsession with graphic eye makeup into your wedding day. Simplify the rest of your look and let the eyes do all the work with a pop of electric eyeshadow or runway-esque pearl or flower adhesives around the eyes.

Wedding hair accessories
Wedding hair clips, wedding hair jewellery and now even wedding hair bows? There’s a lot of fun accessories you can add to your ‘do. We love these glam hair slides and the super chic and delicate hair bow. Both add a refreshing twist on classic styles. Keep in place with the perfect styling products.

Wedding hair with veil
When in doubt, get the veil out! Veils don’t have to be some big and never-ending train of taffeta and lace (although we do love those too), instead they can be a chic and simple head piece like these cute ones.
Whether you’re getting married soon or leaving it until next year, we hope you get the day of your dreams. For more inspo take a look at the 30 best wedding hair ideas and the best bridal makeup.
