The Top Festival Makeup Looks for Summer
So you’re going to a festival? Woopdeedoo! Whether you’re hitting up Isle of Wight, Leeds or the mother of all festivals, Glastonbury, you need to be prepared. And by that we mean, you need to plan your makeup looks. If you can’t be extra with your makeup at a festival then when can you, really?
Of course, we all love body jewels and excessive amounts of glitter – it’s basically the definition of festival makeup (and don’t worry we’ve still featured our fave looks) – but this year, we’re feeling bright eyeshadow, bold lips and pops of sparkle. To give you inspiration for your 2019 shenanigans, we’ve rounded up our favourite festival beauty looks. If only there were 15 days to a festival so we could work each and every one of these.
A Touch of Playfulness:
Round up this look with a subtle lippy like this Velvetines – it’ll draw all the attention to your eyes and really make them pop! You'll seriously be the envy of all festival-goers.
Love glitter but hate the fuss? Then this simple glitter eye makeup is for you. It’s quick, requires minimal energy (yay, a lie in...if that's possible at a festival?) and it's still super fun.
We live for an orange and pink colour combo and this look is everything. Add sexy fuchsia to your eyes using MAC’s eyeshadow in Ruddy.
Glitter & Jewels Galore:
Add a little sparkle to the inners of your eyes because every festival makeup look needs glitter, especially when it's as extra as this.
Though we can’t take our eyes away from the incredible forehead feature, we also can’t help but ogle the pink and orange hair. It’s. So. Beautiful. Take BLEACH LONDON The Big Pink Super Cool Colour. (Even I gave BLEACH's Blorange a try and it looked sick!)
Build up the dazzle around your eyes by applying some extra glitter along your cheekbones with another glitzy classic from Barry M. Not only does it look cute AF but it really sculpts your face, too. WINNING!
Get as creative as you like with these gems. They're super chunky and boast an enviable shine so you can really an impact with your jewel artistry! We personally love wearing the gems on the outer corners of your eyes, it's mesmer-eye-sing.
This glitter in Beauty Beam shines all kinds of blues, oranges, silvers, greens and purples and will look so cool in contrast with the dark lippy. Put it on your eyelids and under your eyes for a clown-esque look.
Take this sparkly powder in Roxy and place all across your eyes like a glitter mask. It’s giving us major Antonio Banderas in Zorro vibes and we are here for it.
But you don’t just want to have red glitter, that’s not very festivally at all. You have to mix your glitters to become a master of the festival glitter face. This Barry M glitz in Slay will look awesome across the top of your brows.
Sweet & Simple:
So you don’t like the fantastical look but you want to get involved? With a glitter eyeliner like this Too Faced in Super Fun Night, you can create an array of festival looks but without having to put in too much effort. We love this Bowie inspired lightning strike.
Faux freckles are the next big thing in beauty and everyone is wanting to get their hands on these innocent-looking beauty marks. They’re cute and playful and don’t just have to go across your nose and cheeks; you can literally draw them on anywhere! Just use a medium-toned brow pencil to precisely (and lightly) draw on the beauty spots.
Now this look we can hop on board with. It’s minimalist, minimal effort and looks so cool. It’s great for those of you who prefer a more understated festival beauty look. With this liquid liner (or any colour for that matter) you can draw all kinds of fun shapes and patterns.
No matter which type of festival-goer you are, everyone likes to dress up and get their glitter on. We mean, it’s part and parcel of going to a festival and, artists aside, it’s the best bit! Whichever look you go for, you're going to look incredible! And don't forget about your nails: discover the best nail shades for summer 2019 to go alongside your festival makeup. Happy festivalling, campers!
