Laura Biagiotti was an Italian fashion designer known and loved for her unique creations within fashion. In fact, so associated did she became with one particular luxury fabric that she was affectionately dubbed 'the queen of cashmere'.
She was born to a dressmaker mother who designed the uniforms for Alitalia, Italy's preferred airline. Hailing from such a background, it was perhaps inevitable that Laura would take her own steps into fashion, which she did after a brief dalliance with archaeology.
While her clothing helped popularise the idea of luxury cashmere, her journey into the world of fragrance ushered in a new generation of creative self-expression. Laura Biagiotti's first fragrance, Fiori Bianchi, was unveiled in 1982, to be quickly followed by Roma, which remains the brand's bestselling composition.
