The tale behind the fragrance brand started with the botanical pioneer Louis Marie Aubert du Petit Thouars in 1792. When exiled to Madagascar, La Reunion and the Mauritius islands he discovered a vast collection of plant specimens which he brought back to France ten years later. With this rich botanical knowledge in hand, he became a member of the Académie des Sciences.

Fast forward 200 years later and Marie du Petit Thouars used her incredible family tradition to create a luxury collection of candles, perfumes and skin care products all with botanical fragrances. She then joined forces with her husband Matthew Berkson to take the brand Maison Louis Marie to a whole new global scale.

Today, the brand is dedicated to clean formulas which are kind to the skin and the environment. Their products are entirely cruelty-free and formulated without any chemical nasties. Where possible, they also try to limit their use of plastic and use recycled packaging materials.
