Rimmel's story started back in 1834 when young pioneer Eugene Rimmel and his father set up House of Rimmel. Beauty during this time was a very different story; mascara, for instance, was made with mercury and perfumes were called vinegar. Luckily for us today, Eugene created the first non-toxic mascara and redefined it the world over.

It is because of Eugene's drive that boundaries were pushed over the following 100 years. Beauty had a new standard to reach, thanks to House of Rimmel. Today, the brand still draws inspiration from Eugene's inventive ways to create new looks and tools and reshape 'the norm'.
